Amber Morley 2022 Election Campaign

With determination and pure grit, the Amber Morley 2022 Campaign was a love letter to the residents of Etobicoke-Lakeshore that recognized the need for new and inclusive leadership rooted in action and accountability.

Against all odds an amazing group of every day citizens rallied around an inspired candidate – volunteering their time and energy between work, school pick-ups and late-night zooms to help build a Community for All of Etobicoke-Lakeshore.

On October 24, 2022, Amber Morley was elected as Toronto City Councillor for Ward 3, Etobicoke-Lakeshore unseating a nearly 20 year incumbent by 6% – the only defeat of an incumbent councillor running for reelection in 2022. Amber Morley is the second Black woman to hold office in the history of Toronto City Council since Beverley Salmon (1985-1997). On August 10, 2023, Mayor Olivia Chow appointed Councillor Morley as Deputy Mayor of Etobicoke.
